Help our Dad Recover and Get Back on His Feet!

Hi everyone,

We are reaching out on behalf of our amazing dad, a devoted father to five, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, and a son. He’s the strongest man we know, and right now, he’s fighting harder than ever to heal and rebuild his life.

Recently, our dad suffered a sudden heart attack from many factors mainly including blood pressure issues. What we thought was just one serious issue quickly turned into something even more overwhelming. After the heart attack, doctors discovered he was also experiencing heart failure and kidney failure. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, his other organs started shutting down. His liver was struggling, and he developed pneumonia and had toxins in both lungs. Since Sunday, April 13th he has been in the hospital, then on Wednesday, April 16th he was intubated and has been on the ventilator ever since.

Everything hit at once! It felt like the world was crashing in on him and us. But through it all, he has fought with strength, and we’re so grateful to say that he’s doing better now. His recovery is slow, but it’s steady and we thank God for that every single day.

However, while he’s healing, there’s another heartbreaking part to his story.. he doesn’t have a place to call “home” to return to. The house he was living in played an impact in his lungs, which makes it no longer safe for him and especially for someone recovering from pneumonia and toxins with such critical organ issues. We can salvage majority of his clothes/shoes and some sealed wood/plastics/metals but his furniture will have to be replaced for his health and safety.

Now, he’s left with not quite as much, in need of a clean and safe place to call home and basic furniture and necessities to support his healing. But all in all he will be okay! Everyday before they intubated the doctors would come in and say “how are you feeling” his response was always “better”.. never a complain.

Even through all of this, I can promise you that when he wakes up he’ll be more concerned of how we have been and how his dog, Ryker is. Still not concerned for himself but for others.. that’s just who he is. He’s the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Now, it’s our turn to be there for him.
