Help our Dad, a USMC veteran, recover from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Sophia Swann and I’m writing on behalf of myself and my sisters Chelsie, Cheyenne and Olivia. We're reaching out to ask for your support for our dad, Scotty, a disabled U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Yesterday, he faced unimaginable loss due to the devastating flash floods caused by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. In a matter of hours, my dad’s entire life was turned upside down. He lost his home, his car, his motorcycle, and even the glasses off his head, along with all his clothing and personal belongings—many of which are irreplaceable. The home across the street, where our family has lived and gathered for generations, now has water up to the ceiling fan. He had to be evacuated from the roof of his house with his partner, her son, and their dogs and cats, watching as everything he loved floated away.
Our dad is known for his big heart and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need, and now it's our turn to help him. He’s facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding his life from scratch, and any support—big or small—will make a huge difference in helping him get back on his feet.
The funds raised will go directly toward helping him secure temporary housing, replace belongings, and begin the long journey of recovery. Every dollar counts, and even if you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. All proceeds will go directly to our dad.
