Help Our Family - Medical Debt

My name is Rachel, and I hate asking for help, but when it comes to my children—I'll do anything.

I have tried to pull myself up by my own boostraps, but the straps long ago snapped and there's nothing left to pull. Every time I think I've gotten us back on track, the car needs to go in the shop, the washing machine breaks, or a new emergency crops up.

The past few years have been brutal for us health-wise. There have been EKGs, MRIs, blood draws, therapies, tests, and evaluations—and that's just the children! We have over $6,000 in medical debt with another $10,000 coming with my medically-neccessitated jaw surgery (insurance won't cover it), plus the credit cards from trying to keep up on the payment plans. It's too much.

We are on payment plans for as many of the bills as we can, but some facilities don't allow payment plans and demand payment in full at the time of service. I have taken on extra hours and clients, we use the electricity and water as little as possible, we have cut everything that could be cut.

We don't eat out. We don't go out. We don't see friends. We're still drowning.
