Help Us Get Back on Our Feet After a Family Crisis

Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out for your support during an incredibly challenging time for our family. One of our family members, Todd Cooney, a military paramedic has been struggling deeply with PTSD for the past 5 years. He has been in a continuous opperational state since the pandemic and recent training triggered his mental health crisis again. The past month has been a harrowing experience, as he has been under suicide watch while we work to eliminate stress and provide him the care he desperately needs.

To create a peaceful environment for his recovery, we planned a road trip to take our kids to their grandparents' house. We hoped this would give Dad/Todd the chance to decompress and focus on treatment.

Unfortunately, our journey took a devastating turn just 30 minutes before reaching Regina, about 6 hours from our destination.

Our car broke down, and we were forced to have it towed, only to discover that the damage was so severe that repairing it would be financially crippling. The best offer we received was $350 for our 2015 Jetta. Thankfully, our in-laws were able to cover the cost of an emergency hotel stay for us, but we still had to cover the cost just to get from where we were stranded on the highway.

Now, we are in a dire situation. We need to cover all the unexpected emergency expenses, and we need to purchase plane tickets to get back home.

Any amount you can contribute will make a tremendous difference and help us navigate this incredibly difficult time. Any remaining funds would go to help us buy a used vehicle.
