Help Our Father Stand With this Wheelchair!
Donation protected
During this pandemic caregiving has been hit extremely hard, however there are still some bright moments. Our father, Eugene Anderson who lives in the Detroit area has multiple sclerosis so he’s been confined to a wheelchair. Our father has *not* given up hope during his 40+ years of dealing with MS and has researched the chair for 2 years. Finally through a kind salesperson, our Dad was able to test drive the chair to see if it is a worthwhile investment. We saw him stand for the first time in 23 years. When my twin sister who also lives in Detroit shared the video on her Instagram page on Father’s day and it went mildly viral receiving 10,000 views! This is a testament that in the midst of a pandemic, Hope and Courage are not canceled. It's wonderful to know people would like to see our Father stand will you help us?
Having this will wheelchair will change my father's life and help to make living with multiple sclerosis more manageable. The Redman wheelchair takes two months to make and it cost $50, 000! Medicare will cover a portion, not all so we're hoping to raise the rest. We're asking everyone who have room in their hearts to give $5, in honor or memory of their father, husband, uncle or grandfather. When I showed my daughter the video of our father (her Grandpa) standing in the wheelchair, she said, "He is standing! This moment melted our hearts which was needed because caregiving has been challenging. So this will make it easier for us, his daughters especially for my sister Melinda who is his main caregiver.
Also you will be helping to bring awareness about those who are differently-abled, and how they cope with normal life and now pandemic life. Our father is not giving up hope so will please help him to stand? on behalf of our father, #MyGene we thank you for your generousity!
With gratitude,
Melinda & Regena
