Help Our Friend Leave A Dangerous Apartment

Our friend, Nylah Burton, is in a very scary living situation and needs our help. Here is what she wrote on Twitter about the situation:

"So I'm currently listening to my next door neighbor rant about "n****r" Barack Obama and how he wishes he could string every "n****r" Obama voters up by their toes because they call him racist
 
Y'all just don't even understand the daily terror of living in our skin
 
I am going to have to go to bed tonight listening to the word "n****r" over and over again. In an apartment with a predatory lease that I can't get out of without paying them like $3,000 plus the rent and deposit for a new place.
 
I have to live underneath a man ranting about fighting black people for his "rights" and screaming about shooting us.
 
I can't call the police, because he may know it's us that called. This is Denver, after all, so we're one of few Black people in this complex.
 
I also can't call the police because they might kill me or my partner, or maybe someone else."

Nylah needs help to pay for leaving this apartment building. A building that has refused to deal with the problem, and that has reneged on its deal to let her leave without cost.  Since this is an emergency, she is leaving anyway, but at significant cost to herself.

This is simply not okay. She is afraid for her life, and must absorb the costs of escaping a horrifying situation.

Let's come together and help her. We spoke with her, and she said she would need $2,000 for the move to not affect her negatively financially.

Just by leaving, she is already facing an incredibly difficult task. So let's help her at least have this off of her mind.
