Urgent surgery fund for Shannon Bennett

Please help raise funds for our friend Shannon to have a necessary, immediate surgery. In 2019, Shannon was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid that has recently tripled in size and is causing serious health issues. Shannon experiences daily pelvic pain, fatigue, heavy bleeding, and pressure on her reproductive organs; in addition, the fibroid is causing severe complications with her circulatory system and her right kidney. Her doctor fears she could potentially lose her kidney—if the fibroid isn’t removed immediately.

After being told by three surgeons in California that a hysterectomy was the only option, Shannon has decided to go with a medical practice out of state that specializes in removing large fibroids laparoscopically while preserving the uterus. This has given us much hope, as it has been devastating to watch Shannon’s vibrant spirit and active lifestyle deteriorate over the past few years.

If you know Shannon, dance and creative expression are her oxygen. She is a somatic bodyworker who has helped many others learn to live and thrive in their own bodies. She consciously chooses to lead a healthy life, even in her current state. Shannon is very much looking forward to returning to that lifestyle so she can dance again, get back to her regular activities, regain her energy, and help others on their path to awakening.

Due to limited finances, Shannon’s healthcare solution has been alternative medicine and daily pain management, with the potential for loss of an organ. We are hoping to find support from our community, friends, and family to help Shannon access the expensive surgery needed to get her life back and return to vibrancy.
