Hello everyone, we have had some more bad luck befall our little family. Kaori has become extremely ill and we are unsure at the moment what exactly is wrong. Right now she is diagnosed with ITP or Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura it is a rare blood disorder that causes the body to destroy blood platelets. Platelets are what causes your blood to clot. With low levels of platelets you can have spontaneous brain or internal bleeding. The healthy number is 150,000 platelets and Kaori’s have dropped down to 2000, putting her at severe risk of spontaneous bleeding. She’s had to have multiple special medication infusions and blood transfusions to help increase platelet production to prevent the bleeding. Kaori’s condition may be something different she isn’t responding normally to regular ITP treatments. We are waiting for results from a bone marrow biopsy to find out if it is ITP or another bone marrow disorder like lymphoma or leukemia. This comes at a time when Harley is still fighting his battle with cancer. I work as much as I can at the salon. But, I still need time off to take care of my family. So we are falling short financially to keep up with everyone’s growing medical bills. Kaori has up coming treatments to pay for, that keep her platelets up. You all are amazing and helped us so much before. You all made it possible for Harley to get the treatment he needed so he could heal and is currently almost cancer free. I know it is a lot to ask and it is hard to ask but please help us take care of our Kaori.
