Help our kids build our new centre!

Can you help our kids and community?
Hi my name is Geoff. I'm the president of the South Burnett Karate Association Inc. (SBKA). Due to COVID, we lost our home. We had been there since 2014. Our landlord would not negotiate our lease under the Retail Shop Lease act COVID-19 and terminated our lease. This is despite us offering to pay 50% of rent while we were closed. The site still sits empty today.
We have over 250 members and over 1,000 associate members who use our facilities. For a small rural country town that's amazing! Our association is a grass roots sporting group that also assists in physical and mental wellbeing community programs. Our members rang in age from 3 years up to 68 years of age. We offer our members opportunities to train, educate and compete at local, state and national levels.
I can still remember hearing many of our kids saying when we went to a competition in Sydney that they had never been on a plane before, let alone travel outside of Queensland. What an amazing experience for them.
Our association is so lucky to be offered a site to build our new centre. This has generously been offered to us. The problem we face now is to get funding to get plans drawn up, get it approved through council, and complete the build. We have been given an estimate of $300, 000.00.
This project is estimated to create 5 new jobs locally, 6 in Queensland, and 8 jobs in total nationally. The project will support local suppliers and contractors, and will help the local community with building resilience and health & wellbeing.
Our members need your help to achieve this so our volunteers can continue their good work for our community. After floods, droughts, bushfire and now COVID, our town needs some good news. You could be part of this. Give our kids a new home and give our town hope again in the good work our volunteers do for this community.
