Help Our Little Family Secure Safe Housing
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rex. Almost a year ago, my partner and I lost our housing. My sister was then abruptly displaced from her home after someone became violent with her. The three of us then moved into a short term rental together so that we could offer each other support. Shortly after settling in, we had to leave, and have faced instability and a lack of safety since.
These past two years have been so difficult for so many of us. As queer, disabled, Black young people, it’s been impossible to find stable housing and work since leaving the San Francisco Bay area.
I am a chef by trade, but have been unable to work due to chronic pain, the pandemic, and long term effects of having covid (or “long covid”). Being unable to continue supporting myself, my partner, and my sister is very difficult. We’ve lived in over ten spaces in the last 8 months and our saved resources have run dry. Any support we receive at this time will be so vital in helping us gain stability in so many ways, but most urgently, it will support us in finding a home that we can work, learn, create, cook, and rest in without fear or worry.
Any donations will support us with move in costs for a new lease, access to healthcare, medication, therapy, and transportation. Any help will mean the world to us, and will assist us in the restoration of our lives, including the kind of access to material and mental stability we all so deeply need. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
