Help our mom Tisha with her road to recovery

Hi everyone my name is Savannah, as some of you may know, our Mom Tisha Parry, is about to endure the most terrifying surgery of her life on Thursday, January 19, ‘23!! Wednesday she will be traveling down to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, NH which is 3hrs away, to have a TPIAT surgery (Total Pancreatectomy with Islet Autotransplantation) where they will be removing her entire pancreas, spleen, parts of her small intestines and 1/3 of her stomach, then they will be taking the islets from her pancreas and transplanting them into her liver (in hopes it prevents her from becoming a diabetic) this will be about a 12hr surgery and a hospital stay for 7-10 days! Our Mom has been suffering from chronic hereditary pancreatitis for over 10yrs and it has taken so much of her quality of life from her, she’s had numerous surgeries with no relief and the past 2 years she’s gotten worse especially since this past July! Each acute pancreatitis attack ends her in the hospital for a week at a time and the most recent one was the week of Thanksgiving and the acute attacks keep getting more severe! She met with the surgical team at Dartmouth Hitchcock back in September and they advised her that her pancreas needs to come out, with her having chronic hereditary pancreatitis, SPINK 1 mutation gene and pancreatic divisum, it puts her at a much higher risk for pancreatic cancer! The beginning of November she decided she didn’t want to have the surgery due to getting a new job and wouldn’t have STD or health benefits to cover medical bills or her own house hold bills while being out of work, then after how severe her acute attack the week of Thanksgiving was and the complications she endured she realized she needed to have this surgery asap! Our Mom is a single mom of 4 but raises my brother and sister full time whom are 16 & 13 and is the primary provider of them! Our Mom is going to have an extremely long road of recovery and when she comes home she will be having home nurses coming a few days a week to care for her and help her with her tube feedings, prescriptions, incision care and anything else she needs assistance with, also having weekly follow ups with her surgical team down at Dartmouth! She is extremely stressed about bills and how she’s going to stay afloat while caring for our brother and sister and trying to focus on her own health and recovery while she will be out of work! We decided to do a fund to help our Mom with her recovery so she wouldn’t stress about bills as stress can cause complications with her recovery! If you’re able to help our Mom, we would greatly appreciate you more than you know! If you can’t donate, that’s ok, just keep our Mom and family in your prayers as she will need them more than anything Thursday!! Thank you so much for following along on our Moms journey and stay tuned as we will update you all as how the surgery went and how she’s doing with her recovery! We love you all so much and thank you for showing our Mom some love and prayers! We would love it too if you would kindly share her story as this is such a terrible disease and can be life threatening!! Love always ~ Savannah, Abby, Steven, Hayleigh and granddaughter Amauri❤️
