Help our neighbours in need

Donation protected
Following the “bomb cyclone” storm in late November, power went out on Penelakut Island and wasn’t restored for several days. 350 Penelakut members on the island lost the moose, elk and other meat and food that they had stored in their freezers, and now face a food emergency this winter. Gifts of meat and food are being collected on Salt Spring Island on Saturday December 7th, from 10 am to 3pm in front of Thrifty's, and Country Grocer but cash contributions to purchase food are also gratefully accepted through this link.
