Help Our Non-Profit Bring Yoga to Colombian Rural Schools

Hey there!

My name is Gustavo, and I'm a member of the ADAAR (Asociación de Alimentos Agroecológicos Rikchary) team and we are seeking your help. We are starting a project in a couple of small rural schools in the mountains of Colombia and this fundraiser is to help get the essential materials to execute it. This project aims to introduce the practice of Yoga in a didactic and interactive way in the municipality of Pijao, Quindío.

Using the art of storytelling and creating playful spaces, we seek to teach children about taking care of their own bodies while practicing Yoga. In addition, a connection will be established with Yoga instructors in the United States to improve techniques and promote cultural exchange.

Angela Arango, one of our team members, has already started a pilot version of the project to gauge interest and so far it's been a great success! The kids love it and are very engaged with the new material. The problem is that they don't have any yoga mats and therefore have to practice using some blankets or on the bare ground.

At this initial stage of the project fundraising, we are looking to get enough to buy 20 yoga mats and to cover transportation costs. Anything you can help with will be greatly appreciated!
