Help our Pat & Hayley get through this ordeal…

Hi! I’m hoping you can help our brother and his partner as they’ve both had to endure individual medical emergencies within months of each other, and in turn are struggling both financially and emotionally. They have a mortgage and two fur babies to care for and now unfortunately mounting bills and medical costs.

On 04/08/2023 Patrick had a major racing accident resulting in a comminuted broken femur with the ambulance officers battling for over an hour trackside to stabilise him. He went though numerous resuscitations with the help of a defibrillator and was finally stabilised enough to be transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for emergency surgery. We will forever be grateful for the tremendous effort of the ambo officers and trauma team at the scene for not giving up and for being able to bring Patrick back to us. They managed to stabilise him, keep him alive and breathing long enough to receive the emergency surgery he needed in order to survive.

This however, will still be a long, extremely stressful and painful process to make it back to hopefully a full recovery. It has been one of the most traumatic experiences both physically and mentally that they’ve ever had to face and they have a long road ahead dealing with the trauma of such a life changing event. Patrick is now out of work for anywhere up to a year, so the financial strain this accident has had on them is significant.

As if they hadn’t faced enough, on Monday 30/10/2023 Hayley was rushed into hospital after contracting a stomach bug which had turned septic. We don’t yet know the severity of the sepsis, just that she is currently receiving treatment and that they are waiting to see how she responds to it. Hayley, since Patrick’s accident, has been the sole provider for them and their two dogs. We are praying for a speedy recovery but in the meantime they have no source of income.

To add even more financial strain, they’ve just discovered over the past fortnight that one of their two beloved fur babies needs hip surgery which is likely to cost around $6k.

These are two of the most beautiful, loving, genuine and humble human beings we know and would never ask for help from anyone but are so unfairly being hammered from all sides. We just want to help them in anyway we can from the opposite side of Australia and we’re hoping you can too.
