Hello! Satoru’s parents, Vitale and Miyuki, here writing on his behalf. We are excited to share about our son, Satoru’s amazing journey and his goal.
Overview:
Hi everyone! My name is Satoru Schwalger and I am a 16 year old passionate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete who has been training at Southside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 10 years. I am thrilled to have an incredible opportunity ahead of me. I am aiming to compete at the 2024 IBJJF World Championship, the largest and most competitive BJJ tournament in the world. The championship is scheduled to take place around June, and I am reaching out for your support to help me achieve my dream.
About myself:
I have been doing Jiu Jitsu since I was six years old, and Jiu Jitsu has been an integral part of my life ever since. I am dedicated to training and practice jiu-jitsu and strength and conditioning six times a week. BJJ has given me so much. It has allowed me to meet and learn from incredible people who share my passion for the sport.
My achievements:
I have been competing since I was little and have won many titles and medals in local tournaments, national tournaments and Superfight events. Some of my main achievements include:
• Tough-Roll Events Summer Edition Superfight winner (2022)
• Tough-Roll Events Winter Edition Grind-To-Shine winner (2023)
• BJJAO Summer Open Superfight winner (2023)
• 1st place IBJJF Pan Pacific Championship (2022)
• 2nd place IBJJF Pan Pacific Championship (2018)
• 1st place Australia National Championship (2021)
• 2nd place Australia National Championship (2022)
• 1st place Rickson Gracie Cup (2x)
• 1st place Queensland States (7x)
Competing at the World Championship has been a dream of mine since I was little and it’s a dream come true! I’m excited to have the opportunity to test myself against the best in the world and see how far I can go.
Why I need your support:
Travel and accommodation expenses can be quite high in America, and my parents and I are working hard to save money. However, it’s not easy. Before Worlds, I want to train at Art of Jiu Jitsu for three weeks to prepare. It’s the team that I always wanted to train with and I know it will give me the best chance to succeed.
Our goal is to raise $8000, covering the travel and accomodation expenses for the World Championship.
How you can help:
If you’re able to help, you can donate, share, and follow my journey. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. If you’re unable to donate, please share this campaign with your friends and family to help spread the word. You can also follow my journey on Instagram @satorubjj, where I post about my training and lifestyle.
Conclusion:
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this page. I am looking forward to the challenge and will work hard to make my dream a reality. I am excited to see what I am capable of and to learn from the experience. Hope everyone has an amazing day, oss! ❤️
