Help Kids in Uganda with school, housing and food
Hi everyone.
My name is Tereza Nyirabwiza,. I have been running a fundraiser to help kids who don’t have access to basic necessities since June 11, 2020. Pallisa is a place in Uganda that isn’t very familiar. Many kids tend to get pregnant at a young age. They don't have the resources to attend school. For them, having something to wear is the best thing they could imagine.
Recently, my friends Bethany Inahuazo and Absalat Berhnau have joined me on this journey. Our hope with this project is to bring awareness to the situation people in the rural parts of Africa go through. Currently, we are working with two families in Uganda, but we hope to branch out through the continent of Africa.
What you see are two families that I have been helping. The first family is a family of children who are being taken care of by their grandmother who is, unfortunately, battling cancer. These kids, Musinguzi Brandan Amaale, 5 years old, Muhanguzi Christopher, 7 years old, Byarugaba Junior Nelson, 11 years old, Ainebyona Jeremiah, 12 years old, and Katsignal Daniel, 3 years old, were left and abandoned by their parents with a home not done. The walls are broken, there’s no food, clothes, or anything of the sort. The second family is also a big family that lives in a hut that you see in the photo. Their parents, unfortunately, had kids at a young age and don’t have the means to provide for their children. A family of 8 lives In that hut. The father constantly goes out to town to find various jobs to at least feed his children while the mother is left to take care of the kids. With some of the money that we have raised so far, we were able to buy them materials that met their urgencies such as mattresses, blankets , bed sheets, clothes, shoes, personal hygiene items, and food.
I had plans to go to Africa and do everything myself, however, due to the coronavirus and things changing , I was not able to travel to Africa, therefore, the person buying the items is my sister who still lives in Uganda. If things change, I am still planning on going and seeing everything firsthand.
As we have previously mentioned, our goal with this fundraiser is to help as many families as we can continuously. Moving forward, we want to keep helping these two families and so many more in the future. We hope to help these families and kids with comfortable living spaces, education , and other long term necessities. In the next couple weeks, Abasalt, Bethany, and I will begin online and in- person fundraising events that will include selling jewelry, raffle tickets, and door to door donations. We ask that you stay informed by visiting the Godundme and social media for the dates of the fundraising events.
Please share and donate.
