It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maya's husband, Rich Hickey. He was 55.

Rich was an integral part of Hope’s Legacy. He was our Grounds and Facilities Supervisor and a driving force at Castle Rock Farm. Not only did he handle maintenance of our grounds, buildings and vehicles, Rich directed volunteer work projects and helped Maya move equines to and from the Rescue.

In April of this year Rich had mitral valve (heart) surgery. It was unexpected and required an 11-day hospital stay, including time in intensive care. He was on the fast track to recovery; the doctors were amazed at his progress. He passed at Castle Rock Farm.
