Help Overcome Medical Challenges and Expenses

On Thursday, August 8th, my day started like any other at 5 a.m. as I prepared for work as a driver for Leros Executive Drivers. Early mornings are familiar to me, and I’ve always embraced the routine. But after breakfast, I felt a sharp cramp in my stomach. At first, I dismissed it, hoping it would pass, but the pain intensified until it became unbearable.

I called the office to explain my situation, but before I could finish, everything went dark. I woke up to EMTs rushing me to White Plains Hospital, marking the beginning of a long and unexpected journey.

I’ve been here for two months, diagnosed with Necrotizing Pancreatitis. During this time, I’ve undergone nine procedures, including two stent placements to help drain my pancreas and liver, and one blood transfusion due to low hemoglobin levels. My job is holding my position for only six months, and I currently have no date for my release or insurance coverage for rehab.

I’ve faced some major challenges, including coding while in the ICU. The road to recovery won’t be short; I’ll need to go into rehab immediately after leaving here, and a gallbladder removal is next on the list. The bills are piling up, and my insurance is running thin, but I refuse to let it break me. I’ve come this far, and I know I can keep going.

If I stick to the plan, I’ll make a full recovery and that’s my goal. Each procedure and moment of doubt has only made me stronger. This isn’t the end of my story; I’m not done fighting. With the love and support from friends and family, I know I’ll get through this. The road is tough, but I’m tougher. Any donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.
