Help Ozzie and Brian Avoid Eviction!

UPDATE 06/29/2023:

Just to start things off; I love each and every one of you who's donated, shared the link, or anything of the sort! You are a delightful and caring soul!!

Unfortunately, I've basically committed at this point to accepting the worst; I'm getting evicted from my apartment, I'll need to place Ozzie back into a foster system (hopefully that and not have him stuck in another traumatic shelter), and I'll be slumming it in some stranger's spare room until my luck somehow turns around.

Nonetheless, I figured, "well, what's the harm of seeing this gofundme thing through?" Because uh, if you've noticed, I increased the donation goal *again*; Y'all don't realize just how much money I've had to borrow from dodgy loans, and a big chunk of what y'all have donated thus far has gone towards that instead.

I did get some good news, though; I have a job interview tomorrow, and the job pays a livable salary! And in the spirit of staying positive, I thought I'd give my gofundme one last big push. If, somehow, within the next two days, I can raise enough money to cover my insane $1,500 rent charge on TOP of all the stupid interest payments I've had to make using these funds in order to cover my LAST month's rent - well, that'd be super!

UPDATE:

Money keeps getting tighter and tighter, and I woke up today to a negative checking account, which is just terrific!!!

I just want to say a big big THANK YOU to everyone who donated, it's invaluable and I love you. Unfortunately things are getting pretty dire: my part time hours keep getting cut, and gig work is incredibly unsustainable, with my poor car in desperate need of some maintainance thast I obviously can't afford. Not to put too fine a point on it, but if I can't make rent this month, I'll need to abandon poor Ozzie, which is basically a death sentence for the poor guy. Even if you can't spare something, every share helps!

Hello, friends! Yes, I need to do this again.I (along with most of my team) lost my salaried game content writing job back in October. For those unaware, the job market in gaming at the moment is apocalyptic; openings are scarce, and it's a feeding frenzy between hundreds of starving, laid-off nerds to pick up whatever scraps are left over.I picked up a part-time job that pays literal poverty wages with no benefits last March, just to keep myself occupied, with some lousy gig work on the side for a few extra bucks. The pay is uniformly lousy, and barely cover my bills and expenses, which is why I've had to resort to crowdfunding now and in the past in order to cover my ridiculous Austin rent.Last month I didn't want to feel guilty about doing another round of crowdfunding AGAIN just to avoid eviction, so now my credit cards are maxxed out, I'm drowning in debt, and I just don't see any way I can possibly cover next month's rent without once again throwing myself at the mercy of my friends' funds. The job search is brutal, the gig work is dehumanizing, and the poverty wage part time job is demoralizing for the amount of work I've put into it. I'm lining up interviews with staffing agencies to see if there's something, ANYTHING out there that'll pay enough to cover all my expenses. Until then though:Thank you! I'm sorry I keep having to do this!! I hate it!!!Cheers,Brian
