Hi, my name is Pablo, and I'm on the verge of becoming a FIFA Master.
My life's goal has been to enter the international sports industry and help it keep growing and developing. After being accepted into one of the best sports programs in the world, I am so close to achieving that goal. Yet, sadly, I've recently encountered some financial hardships that have put my well-being in doing this master's at risk.
After accepting the offer to join the program, I had three plans to generate income:
- Use social media and a lack of content around the program to generate interest in my participation in order to raise funds via sponsorships.
- Contact companies and high-income individuals who I could offer services to in exchange for a donation and support.
- Get into debt with a student loan agency either in the United States or in Colombia.
And after 6 months of efforts, I sadly didn't accomplish much:
- Some of my content had to be taken down due to some legal issues that I was not made aware of until later regarding Fair Use law in Switzerland.
- No company was interested in my offer, and some promises that were made by certain individuals at one point have now gone silent and have cut communication altogether with me.
- FAFSA (USA) does not apply for my program; many student loan agencies in the US don't support programs overseas, and ICETEX (Colombia) rejected my valid request without indication as to why it wasn't accepted.
This is why I need your help. While I am currently paying my way with a credit card and using some emergency money, this is clearly not enough to withstand the longevity of this program. I have no job due to time constraints as well as my immigration status (I'm here on tourist visas and not study visas). This puts me in a spot where the only viable income generation would only cover basic costs like food but not substantial costs like housing, traveling, and medical aid.
Speaking of which: one of my main concerns is regarding my health. As a person who lives with Crohn's disease, I need to stay healthy and to do so, I need to intake a special medication known as Infliximab. The issue is this specialized medication is not covered by any health insurance agency here for foreign students, nor any agency back in Colombia where I am coming from. This means all of this will come out of pocket at a hefty price. This is why your support is crucial.
Asking for money is hard, I am the first to acknowledge that. But I do believe that there are folks who believe in pursuits like mine who wish to support someone who literally left his life behind in Colombia for this one goal.
