I am Belal Alnajjar, and I am reaching out to you, our global community, with a heartfelt call on behalf of my family, currently residing in the war-torn region of Gaza. Our lives have been marred by immense suffering since October 2023, and we continue to endure hardships to this day.
My main objective is the safety and well-being of my family, especially my mother, who is battling diabetes. My family consists of 11 members: mom, 4 brothers & 4 sisters, all facing unimaginable challenges. Unfortunately, we couldn't save my Dad, who died due to lack of medical assistance was a patient with congestive heart failure, chronic kidney failure, diabetes, and hypertension
My sister Hend, a mother of four beautiful kids who was living in Beit Hanoun town, in the very north of the Gaza Strip, lost her home at the beginning of the war, which she worked tirelessly for. IOF compelled her to leave her home two days after the beginning of the conflict, and she evacuated to the family's home in Gaza City. Currently, the Israeli army is making her home a military bootcamp after getting it demolished.
On October 13th, 2023, the escalating Israeli air strikes compelled my family to evacuate home in Gaza, relocating to Rafah for safety, and now we live in a tent there. Tragically, just four days later, my youngest brother Motaz got severely injured in his head as a result of the relentless Israeli assault on Rafah city. He got bleeding and was thereby subjected to an immediate surgery on his head.
Ten days later, he has been battling post-traumatic symptoms and enduring focal seizures, characterized by left-sided convulsions, triggering, and numbness in his limbs, and he is still suffering from these symptoms to this day. Additionally, although soft tissues have healed, the fracture in his skull has left his head visibly distorted from the central-right side. His health condition is compromised and critical, demanding urgent treatment for a full recovery. I enclosed a picture of this as evidence.
My sister Walaa is the mother of two pretty children, Tareq (8 years) and Mira (7 years). Her husband is far from them, and he is working outside of the Gaza Strip. She is currently residing in a tent in Rafah.
My elder sister, Heba, has lost her home in the north of the Gaza Strip due to the continuous Israeli air strikes. Her home was tragically demolished due to an unexpected airstrike while they peacefully slept. Her husband was severely injured in his head and subjected to an urgent surgical operation. Later on, he suffered from post-traumatic symptoms.
In an additional tragedy, my brother Hasan, along with his wife and their innocent kids, are currently stuck and besieged in the north of the Gaza Strip, away from my whole family. He has been profoundly affected by the loss of his job and home, and now he is residing in a refugee camp. He survived three times from death due to the relentless air strikes. Also, he sacrificed his life before military arsenals and Israeli tanks to get flour and food for his children. His two-year-old son, Ali, regularly needs diapers and to be nourished with milk and calcium to grow up properly. Additionally, his five-year-old daughter, Jwan, needs special care as she suffers from bedwetting due to the fear she faces. His wife is pregnant, in the second trimester, and of course she needs medical care and healthy food. But she did not know that she was pregnant because of the famine there. Moreover, she is suffering from jaundice, which in simple terms means yellowish discoloration in the skin and eyes, due to the aggravated food crisis.
Furthermore, the recent wave of destruction has left us grappling with profound challenges, including the loss of the family home.
I share these heartbreaking stories to urge you to empathize with the immense sorrow we endure. In the midst of uncertainty and turmoil, my family stands as a testament to the power of love and determination. Every day, we strive to provide our grandchildren with a nurturing environment filled with laughter, learning, and endless possibilities. But the harsh realities of conflict have cast a shadow over our dreams, threatening to tear apart the very fabric of our existence.
In these challenging times, I humbly request your support, no matter the size, as we strive to rebuild our shattered lives and reunite together. In order to provide my family with a chance at a better life, I strive to gather a total of $70,000 USD. With this amount, I hope to secure our relocation to a safe country offering stability and opportunities where we can find solace and rebuild our lives. Furthermore, the funds will be utilized to cover our essential living expenses during this transitional period. Your support and generosity, no matter what, can make a significant contribution to my family's journey towards a new beginning and a brighter, more hopeful future.
Kindly join me in my quest to create a better tomorrow for our children and for generations to come. Your solidarity and support will not only sustain us but also remind us that we are never alone in this life.
I am immensely grateful for any assistance you can provide. Thank you for your kindness and compassion. Thank you for opening your hearts to my family and for being a beacon of hope in our darkest hours.
- How Donations Will Help:
Each donation represents a glimmer of hope for my family in Egypt. It will provide us with a temporary safe haven and aid in our journey to settle and relocate to Saudi Arabia. This is especially crucial considering the escalating costs of living, particularly when it comes to housing. My objective is to grant a solid foundation to begin again, enabling us to move from mere survival to embracing a life worth living.
