Help Palmira Heal After Brutal Attack & Injury
Donation protected
For as long as I can remember, my mother has worked to provide for our family. At 58 years old, she’s spent half of her life as a cleaner, working one job in the morning, the second in the evening, six days a week—pushing through to make ends meet. She raised six children on her own and sacrificed everything to give us a better life.
30th of January, 2025, at 6am she was on her way to her morning job.
She noticed two men following her but thought nothing of it—assuming they were heading to work too. Being partially deaf, she didn’t hear them approach. They cornered her in a tunnel, grabbed her backpack and violently assaulted her to the point of breaking her arm.
The X-ray report shows that they fractured, dislocated and shattered parts of the bone in chips. They threatened to beat her with an electric whisk, to get her to shut up and to stop moving. She let them take what they needed, and fell down a flight of stairs getting away, landing on an already injured leg.
She is currently immobilized, in severe pain, and deeply traumatized. At first she tried to function as normal, as best as she could, but we can see the toll this is taking on her.
Because her character, and the cost of living has made everything so expensive, and that it’s hard for us (her family) to be able to afford to help, with bills, food, — she will want to work sooner than she can when we want her to focus on healing without financial burden during this time.
This is more than just a physical injury. This is a traumatic event that’s going to affect her for the rest of her life and it’s really important to us that she’s able to take the time she needs to heal properly.
Your donation—no matter how small—will help cover food, rent, utilities, and daily essentials so she can take all the time she needs to heal without worrying about finances. If we can raise enough, after the doctor appointments have checked out, we want to be able to book her a flight to Angola so she can spend time surrounded by family, as it’s mainly just me and my siblings in the UK with her.
Even if you can’t donate, please share this campaign with others who might be able to help.
Thank you for reading.
