Help Pam & Nick Recover From Palisades Fire

Donation protected
After living and working in LA for nearly 50 years, Pam and Nick finally found their little slice of heaven: an apartment in the Palisades where they planned to grow old together, looking out over the sunrises and sunsets, playing with their grandson in the yard, and enjoying the safety and comfort of the beautiful community. All of this changed on January 7 when they lost everything in the Palisades Fire.

Pam and Nick have spent their lives working in the industry they love as casting director & actress, and actor & voiceover artist, respectively. They raised their children in a house in North Hollywood and were so excited about this new chapter in their life together – in fact, just the day before the fire, Pam told her daughter, Liz, “I never want to leave here.”

The evacuation order came fast, and Pam, who was alone in the apartment at the time, was unable to grab much of anything before jumping in her car and spending an excruciating and terrifying four hours trying to get out of the area. The next day, they confirmed their building was reduced to ash. In a moment, they lost medications, jewelry, iPads and laptops, guitars, lights and tripods for their taping studio, clothes – expenses big and small. Of course, not everything can be replaced – like Pam’s father’s Navy records from WWII, family photos, treasured souvenirs from travel, countless journals and handwritten creative writing, and family silver. Of course, the material loss is nothing compared to the emotional devastation. They are beyond grateful to have each other and that friends were also able to evacuate safely.

They were hesitant to have a Go Fund Me page at all given that their general goal in life is to give to others. However, they suffered a tremendous loss.

Pam, a proud graduate of University of Michigan, has dedicated the past decade of her life to helping sexual abuse victims tell their stories. She founded committees within SAG-AFTRA to fight sexual harassment in the industry. Nick is a grateful member of the Motion Picture Academy who enjoys supporting environmental and wildlife causes. As a dear friend of Liz’s, I know their generosity and kindness firsthand. They lift others up and offer unconditional support. I mean, do you know just how many of Liz’s improv shows they’ve enthusiastically attended over the years?! All of them. They are the best of this city and the industry.

Please consider donating to help Pam and Nick with costs that may not be fully covered by other sources of aid. Every little bit is appreciated as they put the pieces of their lives back together. Even simply sharing this page offers much-appreciated support and visibility. The Guest family thanks you for your generosity, compassion, and love during this incredibly difficult time!
