Help Pam Recover

Donation protected
*Update 2/4
I have increased the donation request to 10K because of the recent news Pam received from (her new doctor) the endocrinologist (on 1/31). Even though Pam is home from the hospital, she is not 100% back to good health...yet! She met with her new endocrinologist to discuss the treatment plan to help get her cortisol back to a normal level. He explained that since her cortisol level is at a 0 and the normal range is 25-50 she is experiencing a variety of issues that will take weeks-months to resolve. For example, she struggles with balance so Pam is only able to walk with a walker. She has a dog at home with her and relies on family, friends and neighbors to walk him.
Pam is so grateful to everyone's support during her recovery. She has asked me to let everyone know that she needs some time to process this new diagnosis and when she feels better she will reach out more.
Thank you to everyone who has donated! The money is helping to take one less worry off her plate!!
*Update 1/29
Pam is now home from the hospital!! She spent 5 days at Memorial City MH. Now she is receiving at home care while she works on building back her strength so she can walk without a walker. She is meeting with an Endocrinologist to manage her recent diagnosis of Addison’s disease that she got from the immunotherapy medication as one of the severe side effects of the drug. It’s going to be a while before Pam can return to her role as a teacher due to the fact that she cannot walk without a walker, her extremely low cortisol levels and her low hemoglobin levels too. Currently, she is struggling with her blood pressure being very high. Pam would appreciate any prayers so she can get her hemoglobin, cortisol, and blood pressure back to normal!

Pam is so touched by all that have donated- it warms her heart to know how she has so many that care for her. This money will help her be able to pay her bills.
Thank you for your generosity

are friends and colleagues of Pam and are asking for your support for Pam in her time of need. She needs support to help pay bills while she is on medical leave.

Pam was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer in July 2024, then discovered a tumor during surgery. At this point, her cancer advanced to stage 3. She began chemotherapy and immunotherapy to kill the cancer. She had her last chemotherapy in December and increased her dosage with immunotherapy in January. Pam began experiencing complications with immunotherapy medicine and went to the emergency room on Thursday, 1/23. The doctors admitted her because her cortisol levels were non-existent. Currently, her hemoglobin rate is going down. The doctor believes she has Addison's Disease, which is a severe side effect from the immunotherapy drug. She is expected to stay in the hospital a few days to gain strength, so she can go home with at-home health care and take care of herself. She lives alone with her beloved dog and 2 cats.

Pam is a dedicated teacher who has been in the classroom for 23 years and loves teaching her 4th-grade students math and science in Katy ISD.

We would love your support and to share her story with those who love and want to support Pam. At this time, Pam doesn’t know how long she will have to take off from work to build back her strength.

She taught at Shadow Briar Elementary in HISD for 16 years.

She currently teaches at Mayde Creek Elementary in Katy ISD.
