Help Papa get his legs back

 

 

 

This here is Gizmo, he is our three year old French Bulldog. Recently he started showings signs of having stomach/muscle pain in his rear. We thought he ate something (since he has a fancy appetite for inedible objects) that may have caused a blockage in his intestines. After a few vet trips, an X-ray, and few prescription meds later we had no answers except for possible muscle soreness. He checked out “clean”. We kept a solid eye on him for the last week, he would flare up after playing with our other dogs but nothing so serious that rest wouldn’t heal. He seemed to be on the mend. Yesterday we came home to what looked like a flair up,he was pretty wobbly in his rear end. We gave him his medicine, tucked him in bed and woke up in the middle of the night to him screaming and paralyzed from the waste down. We took him to our vet this morning and they sent us to a neurologist. His vertebrae is shifted and pinching his spinal cord, fluid is filling in his spine. He has lost his ability to go to the bathroom and lost feeling in his legs. Gizmo’s window is incredibly short, once he has the MRI we will have a confirmed diagnosis, and will have to make a decision quickly. We do not know if we will continue with the surgery, we want to make sure that he comes out of surgery with the highest chance of having a significant quality of life. The cost of his treatments so far have made a huge dent in our pocket book, anything at this point would help us so much. Gizmo is such an important part of our family we just want to make sure we give Gizmo the best chance at surviving this while giving him the chance to live a quality life.
