Kai, our most beloved patriarch and a most venerable motor-journalist, photographer, writer, editor, and all-around bad-ass, has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. We, his family, find ourselves faced with an immense mountain ahead of us that is far too treacherous to climb alone. We humbly ask for your help in the journey ahead, where we will face our greatest obstacle together as a family as he receives treatment for his tumor beginning in the next couple of weeks.
It is inoperable in its location and will require a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. Your donation will go directly to the cost of these treatments and various doctor's appointments and fees. If the tumor persists to grow it may continue to interfere with the motor functions to the right side of his body.
In addition to being an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and chatty history buff to any and all who will listen, Kai has been a writer, editor, and photographer with Easyriders magazine for over 30 years.
During this time he also wrote for Rebel Rodz, V-Twin, and Eagle's Eye magazines. He has even been known to model from time to time! What a guy.
In addition to being a part-time supermodel, our father, "The Red Baron," helped found the Weasles Motorcycle Club and even wrote its weighty rules and bylaws.
Kai has been on the advisory Council for the Las Vegas BikeFest several times, and has covered innumerable bike events across the country and beyond. He has appeared on two episodes of Full Custom Garage. What a legend! He's kind of a big deal.
Beyond embodying "The Austrian Oak," as he has been known around the Paisano office, he is our rock, our anchor, our big love! And we will move heaven and earth to get him through this. We appreciate absolutely anything sent our way more than we could possibly express. We love this guy!
