Help Paradise HS Cross Country & Track get moving

Running is a sport defined by community. From workouts with friends, to the support of family members, to the spectacle of thousands gathered for a single footrace, running brings people together.
That's Fine Track Club is soliciting the Bay Area running community (and beyond) to raise money for the Paradise High School Cross Country and Track teams as they rebuild in the aftermath of the Camp Fire.
On the morning of November 8, this wildfire raged through Paradise, California. As we write, the death toll has risen to 84 people, with 475 still missing. Moreover the devastation was total: 17,148 structures were destroyed, including 12,637 homes and 118 apartment buildings.
But we were inspired to learn how Gabe Price, a senior on Paradise High's cross country team whose home was destroyed, qualified for the state meet the weekend after the fire. Running solo on the qualifying course, Gabe needed to run the 5K in 17:40 in order to compete at states. He finished in 17:12.
We have an updated goal of raising $5,136, representative of 3xGabe's qualifying time, in order to help the Paradise team buy new shoes, gear, and anything they need to get back on their feet all money will go straight to the local program. Here's a word from Thomas Harris, Paradise's cross country coach:
"First off, thank you very much. We're all taking it day by day, realizing more and more that we've just lost everything. Your generous contribution would help out huge while putting smiles back on these student-athletes faces. Once again, thanks for thinking about us in this time of need."
Running is, at its core, an act of audacious hope. It takes boldness and belief to toe a starting line. So let's spread some hope this holiday season. Any amount helps. Chip in now.
TFTC will also be hosting our annual Christmas Party after CIM at the Kingfish Pub in Oakland on the afternoon of December 2. We would love to see you there and we will be passing around a hat for donations in person!
