“Help Pastor Jon’s Family With Funeral Expenses”
Hello, my name is Netty Varo,
Our beloved pastor, Jon Wenger, recently passed on 1/7/24. Jon was a wonderful friend who made a positive impact and touched the lives of those around him.
Jon was diagnosed in 2012 with FSGS, a kidney disease that put him in end stage renal failure and on dialysis. In 2014 he received a kidney transplant. In 2020, after routine tests were done, it was found the FSGS had returned, and he went back on dialysis. In late 2021 an EKG showed that his heart was beginning to become affected from the disease and in the next six months, he suffered 2 massive heart attacks, which lead to 2 major surgeries, one to implant a cardio inverter defibrillator and another to implant an aortic valve replacement.
In November of 2023 is when everything suddenly took a turn for the worse. He was hospitalized multiple times and after weeks of consistent stays, and many more surgeries, he was sent home on December 27th. Within 10 days, God had other plans and Jon went home to be with the Lord. We thought we had more time, even though his heart was failing, he was a fighter and pushed harder to survive than
anyone we know.
We are grief-stricken by Jon’s loss and not ready for the high cost of the funeral expenses. We want to give Jon the memorial he deserves to honor and celebrate his memory and say our last goodbyes.
As heartbreaking and sad as planning a funeral is on its own, the truth remains that there is a cost to lay your loved one to rest. With the increase in medical expenses and funeral expenses, on top of being ineligible for a life insurance policy because of the disease, we are asking for help financially for this family. Any amount is welcomed and most importantly appreciated. He fought the good fight of faith; now can you help fight for his family?
Thank you and God bless you.
