Help Pat & Maureen with medical bills

Hi! I'm Anna and I am fundraising for my dearest friend, Maureen, and her husband, Pat. Moe and I have known each other since we were 8-years-old, almost 60 years. We have been through weddings, babies, funerals, together. Lots of laughter, a few tears, always love. She and Pat are the sweetest, most caring people I know. If they can do anything for you, stranger or friend, they would be the first people there. I know that sounds cliche, but cliches are true! Now, I am asking strangers and friends to help them.

Moe has been an LPN all her life, but a disability made working in a hospital or office situation impossible. So, for the passed couple of years, she has worked in home health care. Pat has been employed, but he was recently diagnosed with cancer. His job being a physically strenuous one, he has been forced to miss work regularly. But, they were hanging in there. Both incomes were necessary for them to pay medical bills for Pat and keep a roof over their heads.

A couple weeks ago, my crazy, beautiful friend decided to fall down the stairs and break her leg. She does not expect to be able to return to work till spring. Home health care offers no sick time, vacation time, or long term disability, so they are now down an income. They are paying for chemotherapy medication out of pocket and have discovered that Pat's therapy cannot continue until the balance is paid. It's an overwhelming situation.

There is nowhere else to turn than to ask the good Lord and the great friends and strangers who see this post for help.
