Help Pat Nigro and Family

Hi, my name is K.C. Meleski and we are fundraising for my good friend Pat Nigro, his wife Desiree, and their two boys Lucas and Marco. Pat is one of my closest friends. We played together on the Ohio State lacrosse team, coached together for the Upper Arlington lacrosse team, and were roommates throughout college. Pat, originally from Huntington, NY, is one of the most fun-loving and good-natured people that I have ever known.

Pat and his family were devasted last week to learn that Pat has been diagnosed with Huntington's disease. Huntington's disease is an inherited disorder that causes nerve cells in parts of the brain to gradually break down and die. When Pat was a child he lost his mother and two aunts to this horrible disease when they were in their 40s. While Pat's family and friends pray for a medical breakthrough there is unfortunately no cure for this horrible disease today.

Tragically Pat is already suffering from many of the symptoms of Huntington's Disease, including short-term memory loss and comprehension issues, and as a result, is no longer able to work. As to be expected this horrible disease causes severe depression in patients that have it. Our goal through this fundraising campaign is to help Pat fight that depression, stay positive, and allow him to continue to be the wonderful father and husband that he is - by easing his family's financial hardship.
