Help Patty and Alex Recover From the Palisades Fire

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

Patricia Isas and Alex Colmanares lost every meaningful possession they own as their apartment burned to the ground in the Palisades Fire on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. This apartment was their sanctuary they’d lived in for 20 years, a place where thousands of meals had been shared, movies were watched with friends, and family often slept on the couch of their one-bedroom space.

Patty’s work at the local Palisades dance studio, Fancy Feet, also burned down on the same day. They are currently staying with Patty's mom, a few hours away, and now need to get back on their feet.

For as long as anyone has known them, Patty and Alex have put everyone before themselves. Every time someone needed to borrow a car, didn’t have enough groceries, or felt worried about their own woes, Patty and Alex were there. They maintain unwavering positivity and warmth in every situation. Spending time in their presence is like being with your favorite people with whom you feel the most comfortable and secure.

Now, it’s time for us to give back.

Please help our friends who never ask for help. Your contribution will help Patty and Alex purchase the most basic needs as they start again: a security deposit on a new apartment, furniture, toiletries, and clothing.

Alex turned 51 two days after the fire. If every person could contribute $51 (or more!) to help reach the goal, with the multitude of lives that Patty and Alex have touched, I know we will help them renew theirs.
