Help Paul and Deanna through Pauls Lung Transplant Journey

Hi,

I am Peg Brown and I want to tell you a little bit about my little brother Paul. He is 59 and happily married to Deanna and has 3 wonderful children and 6 lovely grandchildren. Up until less than two years ago he was working and enjoying life, but we all know how quickly that can change. Paul was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, which scars the lungs and slowly takes away your lung capacity and ability to breathe. With the assistance of oxygen, he has been able to stay moderately active and do daily tasks. This disease runs in our family and has hit us hard. Paul's disease has progressed very quickly and he will be heading to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis in the next few months for a lung transplant.

If you know Paul then you know he is a fighter and fully intends to get his life back. Lung Transplants can be very successful and people can go on to lead normal lives. However, Paul will be in the hospital for up to 3 weeks and then will stay in St Louis an additional 3 months or more after the surgery. His wife Deanna of course would like to be with him the majority of the time but her time away from work will be unpaid. Paul is currently receiving 60% of his salary so their income is already greatly diminished.

Our hope with this fundraiser is to help pay for housing in St Louis and allow Deanna to be there with him and keep their bills paid and home life as stable as possible.

I know we all have challenges in our daily lives but any help for Paul whether a donation, prayers or happy, positive thoughts will be so appreciated.
