Dear friends, generous doners,
HELP PAUL FIGHT CANCER
PLEASE SHARE & REPOST!
We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share the news that our dear and beloved, Guy Paul Sylvestre, was diagnosed with Esophageal and Stomach Cancer. Paul, as he is best known, has been unable to eat since early February, is sustained by liquids and is bravely fighting for his life. He has brought so much joy, support and inspiration through his work supporting seniors and people with disabilities with technologies, automation, adaptations, and independent living help, and now -- it's his turn -- he needs our support.
Paul is facing ever-increasing expenses that add to the physical and emotional burden of his cancer diagnosis and struggle to survive. The treatments, medications, and visit fees are some of the many burdens added to normal day-to-day expenses that he is having to bear.
Paul can no longer swallow solids. Losing 50lbs in two months means none of his clothes fit and he needs an adapted liquid diet just to survive. Specialty equipment to help him sleep and the costs of over-the-counter aids all add up quickly. Medications in liquid and sublingual forms can cost five to ten times more than regular pill-form medication.
We support him as best we can and have additional expenses and costs of our own. We need to take time off work to support Paul, which adds to overall financial strains faced.
Paul has no extended medical insurance coverage as it is not offered by his employer. He will have an exceptionally long and costly road to recovery.
We have set up this GoFundMe page to help with Paul’s expenses while he battles cancer. All contributions will go directly to covering his expenses and the costs surrounding urgent treatments, surgery, tests, medications, and the services he will need to live and beat cancer. Your donations will allow him to focus on his health and well-being without having to worry about the financial impacts of his diagnosis. Your generosity will have an incredibly positive impact.
Paul has touched many. In 2009, Paul was one of the key organizers of fundraisers for a child stricken with brain cancer, successfully raising over $43,000 for the sick child and his own family.
He has also helped many others with cancer, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, blood disorders, African orphans with AIDS and others in need near and far.
Paul is certainly more used to giving of himself than receiving from others, but now, it’s Paul’s turn to need our help.
We also need your help in spreading the word about Paul's situation. Please share this fundraiser page with your friends and family on social media, email, or any other platform that you think would help us reach more people.
Every share could mean a potential donation or purchase that could make a real difference for Paul.
Paul’s talents, caring and passion have touched so many of our lives, and now it is our turn to show him our love and support. Let us rally together and show Paul that he is not alone in this fight.
Kids, nature, the visual and performing arts, and good old-fashion fun, are all part of Paul’s lighter side. Kids of all ages gravitate to him – He is going to be missed by them for a while, but with your help in his recovery, he can get back to creating positive memories for others. Please help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering donating to Paul's cause. Every donation and every share will mean the world to Paul and us. Together, we can help support our beloved friend through this extremely challenging time and help him kick this cancer's ass!
With our gratitude,
Tammy, Tori, Martin, -- all of us - and of course Paul
We love and appreciate your wishes and will do our best to relay your kindness to Paul. Thank you!
