Help Paul Drive Miles with Smiles
Paul Day Clemens is an actor, writer, artist, and most importantly, friend. You may know him from such films as "The Beast Within," where he transformed into a cicada monster (especially relevant in these times) and "The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon" series on YouTube. Paul co-wrote the one-man play "Edgar Allan Poe: Once Upon a Midnight" which was performed on tour for many years by John Astin. Paul also sculpts, paints, and restores horror and movie props.
As it has for many in the entertainment business, the pandemic has been hard on Paul. The main person who was employing him to restore props had to scale back his collection, and most of the entertainment industry shut down. Paul scraped by working as a delivery driver, and luckily lots of people were staying home and ordering in. But on May 3, 2021, Paul’s car was struck by an SUV in a T-bone accident in the San Fernando Valley. Paul sustained a concussion, lower back injuries, and his car was totaled.
Paul depends on his car for his income. Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover the cost of replacing his vehicle, so he is currently having to rent a car which takes up most of the money he makes on deliveries. Paul also needs urgent dental work for health reasons and to allow him to return to acting.
To know Paul is to love him. I (Karin Willison) have been one of Paul’s closest friends for over 25 years and he is one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. He is always there with a listening ear and a fascinating story to cheer you up. He’s talented and creative and has so much to give to the world. But it’s hard to create when life keeps kicking you when you’re down. Paul has been there for so many people and now he needs our help.
Funds will be used as follows:
$10,000 to buy a reliable used car to use for deliveries, and to help him afford full coverage insurance to protect him in the future
$5000 for dental work
Any additional money raised will assist with future periodontal surgery and bills that are piling up since he can’t work much right now.
Thank you so much for your support!
