Help Paul & His Family With Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Dalila Gomez.

On Tuesday morning while on a surf trip in Saladita, Mexico, my father, Paul Gomez, was severely injured in a major ATV accident. While trying to catch up with the others, he hit a divot in the sand, causing him to lose control of the ATV which ultimately lead to him flipping over the handle bars where the motor vehicle proceeded to roll on top of him, leaving him face down in the sand with injuries unknown at the time. Thankfully for Rick Devoe, who sensed something could be wrong when my dad had not met up with the group yet, turned around to find my father unconscious. They quickly transported him back the house where they began to asses his injuries to the best of their abilities. After 4 ambulance rides trying to find a doctor who could help, they finally ended up in a hospital in Acapulco where my dad was found out to have 2 broken shoulders and collar bones, 18 broken ribs, and a punctured/collapsed lung. On Thursday morning, he had to undergo surgery to rebuild his ribcage with titanium rods to prevent his ribs from crushing his organs along with a surgery to fix his shoulders/collar bones. The drain keeping fluid from his lungs should be coming out shortly and then begins the waiting game of when he will be stable enough to fly home. My family and I are so grateful that he is alive and on the road to recovery and even more grateful for all of the people who have offered this father/grandpa/husband love, support, and prayer.

This fundraiser is being set up to help my family pay these medical bills and get our dad back home to us. We appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for being there for Paul.
