Help Paul Kotieno Support His Community in Kenya
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nathaniel, and I'm fundraising on behalf of my friend Paul Kotieno.
Paul lives in Homa Bay, Kenya, where he works alongside members of his community to grow food and provide themselves fresh water, medicine, and education. The Kotieno Community Project employs principles of permaculture and agroforestry to produce fruits and vegetables in a sustainable, cost-effective manner. However, the climate of Homa Bay is extremely susceptible to drought, increasingly intensified by climate change, making fresh water shortages a frequent and devastating problem for Paul's community. This leads to crop failure and reliance on unsafe sources of water, creating hunger, disease, and other health issues. The reality of extreme poverty makes obtaining resources to fix or avoid these issues difficult or impossible.
The funds from this fundraiser will primarily be used to help Paul purchase a vehicle, with which he can work as a taxi driver to provide a self-sufficient source of income for his community, as well as provide a cost-effective method of transportation for community members to the hospital. Any remaining funds will be used for the community as needs arise, whether that means supplies for agriculture, fresh water, or medicine.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. If you can't afford to donate, it will still be a huge help to share this fundraiser to others who may be able to. Thank you for your support!
