Help Paul Randall Fight Motor Neurone Disease
Donation protected
As a business, our team relies on several people to operate as well as we can.
A big part of the Mr Scruff's journey has been an exceptional friend, bouncer and team player Paul Randall. A few months ago, Paul began to experience difficulties in using his hands, which was initially put down to a trapped or damaged nerve in his shoulder. Extensive testing and a painful journey has now resulted in the diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease.
Paul has been dealt a devastating hand with this diagnosis but has faced it with courage. He has always been a cheerful, positive, funny man and his presence at the Blind Pig, and later the Turks Head has become a fixture of the nightlife in Sowerby Bridge. The news of this has greatly affected the community and the team at Mr Scruffs.
We knew as soon as we heard the news that we had to help Paul. We have organised a charity music event and multiple bands have agreed to play for no charge at "Paulstock". We have contacted his former army regiment, the Duke of Wellingtons Regiment, to involve them in this journey, and we are planning to hold other events in the New Year.
Our initial fundraising goal for both this page and "Paulstock" is aimed at getting Paul to Switzerland to take advantage of a revolutionary stem cell treatment aimed at slowing the progression of this cruel disease. Later, funds will be used to increase Paul's comfort and contribute to any care needed.
Paul has always been a huge part of the heart of Mr Scruffs, Sowerby Bridge, and the lives of those who know and love him. We are asking now for your help to help this wonderful man.
