Help Paul Rutyna who has been diagnosed with MND
Donation protected
Hi, we are raising money for our friend and work colleague Paul Rutyna who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Motor neurone disease (MND) is a term used to describe a group of diseases that affect nerve cells called “motor neurones”.
Motor neurones normally carry messages from the brain to the muscles via the spinal cord. The messages allow people to make voluntary movements like walking, swallowing, talking and breathing. With MND, however, the nerves become damaged and start to die so muscles gradually get weaker and waste away. Currently, there is no cure for MND and it is life-shortening.
The speed at which MND progresses and survival times vary for each person. The purpose of this Go Fund Me page is to raise much-needed funds to help Paul as he navigates this journey. Paul can no longer work and faces the ongoing costs of medical treatment and modifying his house to accommodate things like a wheelchair amongst others.
Any donation no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated.
