Final Care Cost Relief for Beloved Dr. Paul Whear

Dr Paul Whear aka the The Dr Aged Parent ,  internationally known composer,  conductor,  educator, raconteur, poet & WW2 Vet is aging in place in his home of 50 years.  Although home is the safest,  best  economical , psychological, emotional,  and intellectual  choice,  the cost of  in home assistance to keep him safe & healthy  is exceeding his modest pension from Marshall University, ss, royalties,  & savings from lifelong frugal living. He is a widower living alone whose children live far away. He was fiercely independent until a series of medical events culminating in a stroke in 2020 have necessitated 24hr assistance with basic daily living and homemaking tasks.    Long term care insurance & VA assistance almost cover 50% of his care, the remainder from his personal resources.  As his need for skilled care increased  has the cost.  Support from a subsidized program was lost due to staffing issues adding $600 more a month plus a 9% increase from the home aide agency have depleted his resources.  Royalties are non-existant as Covid stopped performances & purchases.  Care costs now exceed income. A harsh reality for someone used to working multiple jobs and carefully living within his means all his life.  Donations will be used to pay off outstanding home aide debt  to maintain services and meet current  caregiving expenses.  Any  additional funds will be used to pay his unpaid caregivers, & finance essential repairs to his 100 yo home. No gift is too small, and sharing the campaign very much appreciated .
