Help Paula Beat the Odds

Donation protected

Paula is 51 and living with Stage 4 advanced bile duct cancer. This cancer is rare and has a very low survival rate. Paula has been supported as far as our wonderful NHS can help but research and treatments for this type of cancer are underfunded.

Paula’s fight began in 2019. Since then she endured a 30% liver resection and kidney removal and battled through chemotherapy.

In November 2021, Paula was told that her cancer could not be cured even with further aggressive chemotherapy.

Paula is a beacon of strength for her husband Phil and for her family and friends. Her positive spirit is inspirational, and she is unwavering in her desire to continue living, helping and sharing.

Now, Paula is seeking a lifeline. There are treatments available that will extend Paula’s life, these are her last hope. However, these treatments are not available through the NHS. Paula needs your help to fund the treatments.

Paula is fundraising for an initial 6 months treatment of high dose intravenous Vitamin C at an approved centre in Greater Manchester; this treatment can be successful for many cancers, including cholangiocarcinoma. Based on the minimum twice weekly treatment, £430 pays for week 1, and £2,280 pays for the 1st 4 weeks (with the amount of prescribed Vit C increasing until she reaches the maximum therapeutic levels); this amount allows Paula to immediately schedule and commence her treatment, whilst she continues with her fundraising efforts.

Additionally, Paula requested to be referred by her amazing GP and new Oncology Consultant for TACE treatment in the UK however, this referral is not guaranteed and is usually not available to NHS patients. She is therefore also seeking private TACE treatment in a globally recognised and well-established German hospital and respected Doctor, who has had much success in treating advanced stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma as well as other cancers.

This TACE treatment could be partnered with the high dose IV Vit C treatment, with the same extended medical team, and with regular monitoring and blood tests.

Right now, the goal is to gain stability, to extend Paula’s life and importantly, to have more time to create memories with her loved ones.

Paula's dream is to one day be able to return to work again, and self fund much of her private treatment herself, and to help others do the same.
