Help Paula fight Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Paula Winter and I am a 45-year old musician and the mother of an 8-year old son. Last week, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. Needless to say, this was a major shock to me and my extended family, all of whom live all across the country. My family and friends would love to help but many of them are all too far away to do so.
I learned that I have the BRCA-1 gene which makes me more susceptible to cancer, and since there are no reliable screening methods for this type of cancer versus Breast, Cervical or Uterine cancers, Ovarian cancer is too often diagnosed when it is in the late stages.
The treatment plan that my doctors have recommended and will begin this week requires extensive surgery to remove the metastasizing disease from other adjacent tissue followed by several rounds of chemotherapy employing a mix of two powerful cancer drugs.
This is extremely hard for me to ask for help as I fight to beat this disease and pay the costs for these very expensive treatments. But honestly, I want to live and spend more time with my young son. If you can find it in your heart and within your resources to please make a donation to help towards these copays and therapy I am facing, I would be so thankful. No amount is too large or small.
At 45 years of age, most of us look towards making plans for our lives, and I want to be there to share all of those special moments with you. Thank you for your time and if you are able, your support, whether financial or with prayers, I would be forever grateful.
Peace and love,
Paula
