Help Paula get her powered wheelchair
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m fundraising for a powered wheelchair.
I became ill March 2020 from Covid 19, and developed Longcovid- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME afterwards. That means I suffer from constant severe pain in several parts of my body, muscle and body weakness, and such profound fatigue that I need to sleep most of the time. I also have a scrambled muddled brain, I often get words wrong when I talk, I struggle with complex information and to read long. pages of writing.
I used to work as a brain injury support worker, helping people live the best possible life they could, a job that I loved. Sadly I can no longer work, in fact I am not able to do most things I used to enjoy. I can no longer even look after myself.
I miss walking my Dalmatian, Ruby. I miss cooking, going shopping, going to shows, concerts and art galleries and meeting friends or family. I can no longer drive. I am now completely dependent on other people for all my needs.
My limited mobility and fatigue means I am mainly housebound, I was kindly lent a manual wheelchair, this is very helpful, but it is not mine, and I am still constantly relying on someone else to push me at all times, I can’t choose what to look at in a shop, or move to talk to someone, it can be very disheartening. I would love to have a powered electric wheelchair as this would help me to move around independently, for example look around a supermarket or clothes shop. Or even accompany Ruby on a walk.
I would be very grateful if you can donate any amount you can afford towards the cost of a powered wheelchair for me, if you can’t I understand money is short for most people, but could I cordially ask you to share my gofundme for others to see.
Thank you
Paula
