Help Pauline Mwebi recover from severe injury

On May 4th, 2023, while visiting her family in Kenya, my dear friend, Pauline Mwebi, suffered a severe fracture that completely displaced the bones of her right lower arm. She was just 4 days from returning to her home and job in Houston, TX when this injury occurred. She had surgery to reallign the bones and place stabilizing pins on May 8th and was hospitalized until May 13th in excruciating pain. Since that time she's suffered many complications, delayed healing and, most seriously, sepsis and is now left with almost no mobility in her R lower arm and will require extensive occupational and physical therapy to regain strength and movement in her arm. All the while, she's been unable to return home to Houston and resume her work as a Nurse Practitioner caring for critically ill patients. If you've ever met Pauline, you know she brings a special light to the world. She's worked hard to pursue nursing education all while supporting her younger siblings as they made their way in the US. Her community is global and she fiercely supports and protects those who cross her path.

Pauline and I met almost 20 years ago as brand new nurses and I'm so grateful we did.
