Cleft palate & cleft lip surgery for puppy Sol
Donation protected
Sol, is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppy that was born with a cleft palate and a cleft lip in two places. This condition is fatal for most puppies as it makes them unable to nurse causing them to starve, or even breathe as they aspirate milk into their lungs and get pneumonia.
The breeders, Daintree Duck Tollers, was advised by many other breeders and clients to euthanize this puppy and hide that he was ever born...
Trisha & Scott said no way.
Instead, they're going to keep him as a part of their family. They are tube feeding this puppy every 2 hours to help him maintain weight, giving him steam treatments in their bathroom twice a day to help him breathe, and even staying up throughout the night to monitor him and make sure he's breathing... all while caring for 9 other puppies and dogs of their own.
They're doing this in hopes to get him to the age of four months old, where he can have surgery to correct this abnormality and go on to live a happy normal life with them where he won't have to constantly fight to survive.
Please help us in providing Trisha/Scott the means to pay for this expensive yet live saving surgery for their puppy Sol. They have gone above & beyond for this puppy, any amount that we can donate to make sure this little fighter gets go on living life as his happy, strong self- makes a difference!
Trisha is constantly posting updates and showing us all of the time and effort she is willing to put in to keep this sweet boy alive, please visit her page here:
