Help with Lilys Cancer Removal and Radiation
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my 7 year old dog Lily recently developed a mass on her left front leg. I took her to the vet to get a cytology on it. Unfortunately it came back highly likely to be a cancerous tumor. The next step was to get some x-rays done on her chest to see if there was any clear evidence of cancer spread. Luckily the chest x-rays came back negative. She followed up by getting bloodwork done to prep her for surgery to get the mass removed. Her blood work came back good, so I contacted a specialized surgeon as advised by the vet to properly get the mass removed. The surgery went well and the surgeon said he thinks he got most of the tumor out. Shortly after the surgery, the results from the biopsy came back positive for cancerous cells. The surgeon suggested I follow up with a radiologist to do a couple of rounds of radiation therapy to ensure the cancer doesn’t come back and spread to other parts of her body. I recently had a consultation with an oncologist that quoted Lily’s radiation therapy for 10k-13k. If all goes well she will make a full recovery and hopefully never has to deal with this ever again. It’s been a lot on me financially as well as emotionally and I would appreciate any sort of help. I know a lot of people that have had the pleasure of meeting Lily and would love to help her out. Thank you in advance on behalf of Lily and I.
