Help pay Sebastian Gonzalez medical bills
About Sebastian
I started this go fund me for my close friend who was shot on June 24, 2021, in Rockford, Illinois, in a senseless act of road rage.
Sebastian is the only child of Alisha and Miguel Gonzalez. Both work multiple minimum-wage jobs to help make ends meet.
About accident
On June 24 2021, Sebastian was running an errand for his mother when he was shot several times while driving. One bullet hit right in front of his ear and struck his spine. Sebastian was rushed to two different emergency rooms to attempt to stop the bleeding, with no luck. He was finally rushed to UW Madison where he was finally stabilized. He spent several days in the ICU recovering from the shooting.
Road to Recovery
Sebastian currently is home with his family. However, he was left with several injuries and chronic pain. He is paralyzed in half of his face, lost hearing in one ear, and must wear a neck brace. He is unable to move his neck and struggles to sleep due to headaches and pain. The bullet is still lodged in his neck close to his C2. The bullet is to be removed in an upcoming surgery.
Medical costs
The medical bills associated with this accident increase by the day for Sebastian. Sebastian is a carpenter and is unable to work for the foreseeable future. The medical bills are currently over $170,000. The costs include:
* 3 ambulance rides
* 3 Emergency room visits
* An extended stay at the ICU
* Pain medication
* Upcoming surgeries to remove bullet, Paralysis of half the face, and deafness in one ear
* Ongoing Therapy
How you can help
He is without insurance and can’t pay through his own means. Sebastian has helped his family and friends for his whole life and refused to ask for help in this situation. We are beyond thankful for your generosity to help pay his medical expenses. Any amount will help. Please share this with your friends, family and all social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. to help Sebastian reach his goal.
I will include weekly updates of Sebastian’s road to recovery. Thank you and God bless you.
