Help my father fight cancer
Donation protected
Hello. My father, Allen Wagner, is a disabled Vietnam War veteran who recently experienced a medical emergency in which a tumor was discovered and he was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal (Oral) Cancer. Your support will help my dad pay for uncovered medical bills related to his inpatient hospital stay, home health supplies and medical assistance, upcoming oncology and ENT appointments, radiation therapy, and other debts. We greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.
On Thursday, June 29, 2023, my dad was admitted to the University Medical Center Trauma Center in Las Vegas after an emergency room visit found a ruptured artery due to an undiagnosed tumor in back of the mouth. Since then, my dad has undergone surgeries to seal the artery and undergo a tracheostomy. While he is beginning to gain his strength back, he is unable to eat or speak normally with his tracheostomy, and the risk of uncontrolled bleeding remains until he can undergo radiation therapy to begin to shrink the tumor. He has a long road ahead, but his condition is improving and he hopes to be strong enough to go home and begin radiation treatment within the next couple of weeks.
Many of you know my dad. He is a Vietnam War veteran who experienced the horrors of war first hand with injury and painful images that will remain with him forever. He has also had his fair share of personal issues. But my dad has always tried to maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor and is to so many of us a great friend, mentor, brother, and father. So, on behalf of my father and his family, we greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide, and please know that my dad is moved and motivated by all the love and support he has received and is using it as fuel to continue to get stronger and fight off this cancer.
