Help Payton Kick Cancer's Ass
Donation protected
After a few long weeks of testing and scans, my brother, Payton Higgins, was diagnosed with Stage 4 - Small Cell Carcinoma (Lung Cancer). In mid-November, he began experiencing some pains, which he initially chalked up to kidney stones. After a couple of weeks, he was not experiencing any relief and finally gave in to make an appointment. The doctor in Nebraska gave in some acid reducer and sent him on his way. They actually made him feel worse, and the decision was made that it was best they come home early for the holidays and see a doctor at home. Blood work and scans were immediately ordered, followed by additional scans, tests, and a biopsy. When we realized how serious his condition could be during this process, we moved him and his wife, Jordan, home. Payton will try to continue his schooling but will miss out on his senior year of baseball. (Go Bruins!) They have both had to leave their jobs and only sources of income. We hope to help them ease the financial burden of deductibles, co-insurance, and other unforeseen expenses. But most of all, please keep Payton and those around him in your prayers.
