Help Peaches save her leg.

Hi there my name is Dionne Mckeown, I’m fundraising to help pay for my 17 week old puppies operation to save her leg. She is only young and we haven’t gotten round to getting her insured like my older dog yet.

Peaches was mauled by a big dog yesterday (22nd March 2022) between 1.30 and 2.30 in Strathclyde Park. The dog picked her up with it’s mouth and started shaking her around like she was a stuffed toy while Peaches was squealing. My sister in law Hannah was walking both my dogs at the time of the event as she does twice weekly sometimes more when this happened she also was bitten trying to save Peaches from this vicious animal, and because of this she was traumatised and just wanted to get both my dogs away from this dog as soon as possible. This means we don’t have any details of the owner and we are left with these extortionate vet bills to try and give our puppy a chance at saving her leg.

When we took Peaches to the vet the vet knew straight away something was wrong with her front right leg as it was just hanging. The x-ray revealed that Peaches has suffered an extremely complex double fracture of her elbow and needs urgent surgery today with a specialist - and we have also been advised that this surgery might not be successful and she still could be facing amputation. She also has two puncture wounds on her abdomen from where the dog has picked her up with it’s mouth which have had to be cleaned and stapled back together. We are just heart broken she is the most confident playful puppy you could wish for. She is very well socialised as she goes to doggy daycare twice a week with all different sized dogs and it would never have crossed her mind that this dog was going to do what it did to her. We just hope it doesn’t change her amazing nature and she is back to full health with the help of this surgery.
