Hi,

My name is James Helferstay and one year ago we adopted a one-year-old St. Bernard named PeeWee. PeeWee came with epilepsy, but since I work from home, I knew I would be able to help him and take care of him.

One year into trying to get him stable, we have $25,000 in vet bills. We got the seizures down to every 30-40 days. His last set of seizures was on Christmas Eve, so he spent Christmas in the hospital.

Today, March 1st, he had 6 seizures. The good part is he went 9 weeks since the last seizure, steps in the right direction. I was not able to control them with his meds (we have added/increased meds each time), so he's back in the hospital.

Tonight's bill is already at $5000, and that's if the hospital stay goes smoothly.

I understand times are tough for a lot of people, so please do not help if you cannot. Just creating this for hope to help get through this set of seizures as we continue to work with a neurologist.

PeeWee is already taking 27 pills a day, and we are just trying to give him the best life we can.
